*1  60 m band: Refer to applicable Amateur Radio regulations to your country.

Electronic specifications apply only to amateur bands. Receive sensitivity drops in the vicinity of the 1st IF frequency (8.248MHz) due to IF trapping.

Internal beat may occur during amateur band receive. Band scope (waterfall) screen may also display spurious signals other than receive signal.

Kenwood TMV-71E

The new Kenwood mobile dualbander TM-V71E offers everything you will ever need in respect of fucntional richness and ease of use.

As a real dualbander simultaneous reception on 2m and 70cm is possible, as well as dual reception with VHF (V+V) and UHF (U+U). Max. 50W of power (can be reduced) on both bands offer best reach even in difficult areas. Up to 1000 memories leave no gaps, the display is either by frequency or alpha numeric.

The TM-V71E is perfect for Echolink operations. Together with the optional cable PG-5H the radio can be directly connectd to a computer and work as an Echolink gateway. Ten DTMF memories serve as often called Echolink node numbers.

To facilitate operations under different circumstances the TM-V71E offers the choice of five user profiles. The helps to manage the 1000 memories. The large and easy readable LC display is backlight in either amber or green and can be mounted upside down, if the radio is to be installed in the roof area of your car. With various optional cable sets the front panel can be detached and mounted separately.

Kenwood offers a free programming software which can be used with the optional PG-5G programming cable. A DTMF microphone with backlit keys is included.

Kenwood TS-590SG HF/6m Base Station

Kenwood TS-590SG HF/6m Base Station

The Kenwood® TS-590S provides impressive, yet affordable amateur operation on the HF and 6 meter bands. Thanks to a down-conversion receiver, narrow first roofing filter and dedicated first mixer, the TS-590S has the best dynamic range in its class when handling unwanted adjacent off-frequency signals¹. Having the first roofing filter (6 kHz BW) directly after the mixer enhances the noise blanker’s ability to deal with adjacent off-frequency signals. The result is excellent receive performance, revealing signals that would be hidden to lesser rigs.

Kenwood was the first in the amateur radio market to deploy DSP based AGC at the IF stage with the TS-870S. This DSP technology has now been taken to the next level with the TS-590S. With this new transceiver, a 32-bit DSP is deployed from the IF stage forward, the TS-590S marks a bold new chapter in Kenwood’s proud history of making compact, high-performance transceivers. The DSP based AGC has been improved for the target signal in the IF passband, this result is greatly improved in-band IMD characteristics that are on par with those “top of the line” transceivers costing much more¹ (¹for 160/80/40/20/15 CW/SSB/FSK).

The TS-590S transmit section uses a die-cast aluminum chassis combined with a large heat-sink to increase heat dissipation efficiency. The cooling system uses the same size fan as in the previous model, but now uses two of them. This allows the fans to run at a much lower RPM while still providing more airflow. Lower RPM means less noise. This heavy-duty TX design is capable of withstanding long hours of operation under grueling conditions as found on DX-peditions or during contests. Excellent performance is expected, combined with ergonomic operation.
